What is an ‘address lookup’?

An 'address lookup’ is the term we use to measure the activity of your AddressFinder account. One address lookup is counted every time you select a verified address and collect the data associated with it.
For example, when a user selects an address from the autocomplete widget dropdown list and we return the details of that address to you. Or when a call is made to the Metadata API and the address details are returned.
What if I go over my plan's limit?

If you exceed the limit of the AddressFinder Free plan, the service will pause and return an error message in place of search results. It will restart at the beginning of the next month, or immediately when you upgrade to a paid plan.

If you are on a Monthly paid Plan and exceed the number of lookups associated with your plan, nothing will change. Your users will still be able to search and select verified address data. The extra lookups you use will be counted and charged for at the end of the month.
How is AddressFinder different?

Tools like Google will return address values that may not exist. They use address interpolation and extrapolation to guess where an address might be. This works fine for mapping, but unlike AddressFinder, they won't always give you valid addresses.
Can I verify addresses in a spreadsheet?

Yes. You can use the Address Verification service within the AddressFinder Portal. When you upload your spreadsheet, our system will verify each address when you can then download again in spreadsheet form.
Can I test integrating directly with an API?

Yes. We have a Developer Plan that provides you with the ability to make direct API calls.
